Privacy Policy

Autospecter provides independent pre-purchase vehicle inspection services in Malaysia. This policy explains how we handle personal data in line with the Personal Data Protection Act 2010 (PDPA).

When you use a booking button, the site opens WhatsApp with a message drafted for you. Nothing is sent until you press send inside WhatsApp. At that point we receive what you chose to include: typically your name, the car you are looking at, its location, your preferred date and any listing link.

When we inspect the car, we record its details (such as the registration and chassis numbers), what we found, and the photos and videos we take, together with your name and WhatsApp number so we can send you the report.

Your report is on a private link. So that you can see your reports again, we create a login for your WhatsApp number with a 6-digit PIN, which we send you with the report.

This website uses no tracking or advertising cookies. It keeps one setting in your browser, your choice of light or dark mode, and our staff app uses sign-in cookies.

We use what you send us to respond to your enquiry, schedule an inspection, carry out that inspection and deliver your report. We do not sell your data, and we do not pass it to car dealers, sellers or marketplaces.

Reports, photos, videos and logins are stored with the database and hosting services we use (Supabase and Vercel), on servers in Tokyo, Japan. Only our staff can see a report before it is sent to you, and only you and those you share the link with can see it after.

Messages you send us travel through WhatsApp and are subject to WhatsApp's own privacy policy, which we do not control. Please review it if that matters to you.

Each report is deleted, with its photos and videos, 30 days after it is sent to you. Your login is removed when your last report is deleted.

We keep a record of the work itself for our accounts: the report number, the date, the package and price, and which inspector did it. That record does not include your name, your number or the car's registration.

Enquiry messages stay in our WhatsApp for as long as needed to provide the service.

Under the PDPA you may request access to the personal data we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to stop using it for marketing. Contact us on WhatsApp and we will action the request.

If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted on this page with a new date.
